Animal Welfare
Our cows are fed with natural fodders, cattle feeds, and minerals getting a planned meal every day without usingany growth hormones.
Herd Management
Our farm has cows that are cross between the high yielding Indian breed cows (desi cows) of Sahiwal and Red Sindhi along with Jersey and HF breed.
Automated Milking
100 % milking by machines has helped to maintain very high standards and in clean milk production. Our milking cows are washed and milk containers sterilized regularly.
Chemical-free Fodder
Fodder for the cows are obtained from the best local resources. Our cows are fed with natural fodders, cattle feeds, and minerals. We don't use any growth hormones or other milk inducing agents to increase milk productivity.
Our Cows
They aren’t just our livelihood, they are part of our family. Each one of our cow here at Umananda has a name (all cows are named after Hindu Goddesses). We strongly believe in the Vedic slogan “Gavo Visvasya Matarah” – Cow is our Mother. After all, milk is produced out of affection and giving milk is a motherly function performed out of love for the offspring.
Apart from providing clean surroundings for our cows, we are trying to make them feel good by playing devotional and instrumental music during the milking hours. Our cows are never beaten and by giving names to every cow, we believe the milk delivered at your home is “Purity in the real sense”.
Our milking cows are washed regularly and udder is washed with warm water and wiped before milking. We also make sure milk is not transferred into multiple storage containers to avoid contamination. We also thoroughly wash and sterilize our milk containers.
Feeding

Best Practices
- Introduction of car washing kit for washing the cows and the farm has reduced water usage by over 65 %, thus resulting in water conservation. The cows are cleaned in a better manner with a lot less amount of water.
